Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station received a report of a critical missing subject on Saturday, March 8, 2014; at approximately 5:16 p.m. The reported missing person was a 47 year male adult from Apple Valley with numerous medical issues.
The male walked away from his residence near Macaulay Street and Pawnee Road in Apple Valley at approximately 2:00 p.m., his caretaker reported him missing approximately 3 hours later, according to a release.
The Sheriff’s Deputies conducted an extensive area search by ground and used air support from 40 King. At approximately 6:00 p.m., the Sheriff’s K9 Unit was called as an additional resource. The K9 dog “Dare” was deployed at approximately 7:00 p.m. The dog was able to locate the missing subject within the first 20 minutes of deployment.
The missing person was on a dirt trail, approximately 100 yards from his residence and was found to be in good condition and did not need any medical treatment.
