(VVNG.com.com)- Has the world finally stopped? Will people suddenly begin to pick up the telephone and call one another? Well, that all depends on how long the outage of the popular social media sites Facebook and Instagram will last.
Both social networking websites, are owned by the same parent company and relying on the same servers are currently down.
Many upset users have taken to Twitter searching for answers and to express frustration. The infamous #facebookdown hashtag became the #1 trending topic on Twitter within minutes.
“Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on it and we’ll get it fixed as soon as we can,” Facebook said on its website.
Facebook’s Instagram service says it is aware of outage and is working on a fix.
Lizard Squad seems to claim credit for the Facebook / Instagram outage. Not confirmed.
