BARSTOW, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Detectives seized gaming tables, machines, and documents related to illegal gambling during a search warrant in Barstow, officials said.
It happened on October 31, 2018, at the High Noon Saloon located at 30386 Old State Highway 58 in the unincorporated area of Barstow.
Authorities said, the search warrant was authored as a result of an ongoing investigation into allegations of illegal gambling taking place at the bar.
“Various single-player and multi-player gaming tables, machines, and documents related to illegal gambling were seized from the business. The seizure included a quantity of money believed to be profits from the illegal gambling,” stated sheriff’s officials in a news release.
California’s state gambling laws prohibit the operations of such businesses. Convictions of these felony crimes can be punishable by a fine of up to $5,000 and/or a year in state prison.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident or on other possible gambling enterprises is urged to contact the Barstow Sheriff’s Station at 760/256-4838.
