Hotel employee struck by vehicle in Hesperia

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — An employee at a local hotel was struck by a vehicle as he attempted to confront a couple of fleeing thieves.

It happened on Labor Day Monday at the Econo Lodge located in the 11900 block of Mariposa Road in Hesperia. At about 3:27 pm, Deputy Perez responded to the business reference an assault call.

According to Edgar Moran, with the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station, the victim was looking at live video surveillance when he saw three unknown subjects walk away from a room and enter a burgundy sedan.

“The driver of the vehicle then got out and approached a white Ford pick-up truck and took an unknown red item out of the bed of the truck before re-entering the burgundy vehicle,” stated Moran.

The employee monitoring the cameras exited the office and approached the burgundy sedan as it drove off towards the exit. The sedan slowed down but then accelerated striking the victim at approximately 10MPH.

The victim landed on the hood of the vehicle and then thrown off after the sedan made a turning movement but refused any medical treatment, Moran said.

All three suspects were described as white male adults, between the ages of 20-30. An area check was conducted for the vehicle with negative results. Anyone with information is asked to call the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station at (760)947-1500.
