Homeless man on felony probation arrested after beaking into vacant home

PIÑÓN HILLS, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Steven Kanke, a 55-year- old transient was arrested for breaking into a vacant home and illegal drug use, officials said.
On Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 8:20 pm, deputies D. Peterson and K. Schuler conducted a security check on a vacant residence near Dos Palmas and Amarillo Rd. in Pinon Hills.
Deputies contacted Steven Kanke inside the residence. He was found to be trespassing on the property and was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Kanke, who is on active adult felony probation, was arrested without incident and booked at High Desert Detention Center. He is currently being held without bail on a probation hold.
