Homeless man caught breaking into a vehicle in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Police arrested a 28-year old transient, identified as Victor Hugo Gonzales, for vehicle theft and possession of burglary tools.

It happened on October 3, 2019, at about 9:15 pm in the 15400 block of La Paz Drive in Victorville.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez said the owner of the vehicle spotted the suspect inside his parked vehicle, in front of his apartment.

“The suspect did not have permission to take or be inside the vehicle and was not known to the owner. During the incident, deputies found a shaved car key in the suspect’s pocket,” stated Rodriguez.

Gonzales was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center.

According to public arrest records, Gonzales is charged with VC10851(A) Vehicle Theft, PC466 Possession of Burglary Tools, VC12500(A) Driving Without a License.

Additionally, Gonzales had an existing warrant out of the Riverside Sheriff’s Department for VC10851(A) Vehicle Theft and PC667.5(B) Prison Priors. His combined bail is set at over half a million dollars and is scheduled for arraignment in a Victorville courtroom on October 8th.
