CAJON PASS:(VVNG.com)- A Sig-Alert was issued at 9:07 a.m., following a mass casualty accident. Per CHP incident logs, a major traffic collision with injuries was reported on state route 138 just west of the northbound 15 freeway at 8:48 a.m., on Monday.
Two-vehicles were involved in a head-on collision leaving multiple patients seriously injured. At least one person was trapped in a vehicle and required extrication.
Victor Valley News member Maricela Villan witnessed the accident and stated, “A car flew off the side of road. It looked so bad.”
An airship was requested and traffic was halted to allow the airship to land on the highway. Two additional ground ambulances were also requested. As of 10:00 a.m., no official patient count was available. At this time no additional information is available and more details will be updated as they become available.
If you are planning on traveling down the hill expect delays. Traffic is reported to be backed up to the 15 freeway.
