(VVNG.com)- On August 6, 2014, the Highland Police Department received information from Officials at Kern Valley State Prison reference a possible sexual abuse. Correctional Officers conducted a search of an inmate’s cell, during which they located Heroin and a cellular telephone. The inmate was identified as Juan Bravo, who is currently serving a life sentence in State Prison.
Upon reviewing the contents of that cellular phone, they located digital photographs of the suspect, Evelyn Alvarez, 28 of Highland, sexually assaulting her two minor daughters. Investigation revealed that Alvarez had taken photos of herself as she sexually assaulted her two daughters, and then sent those photos to Bravo who had a cell phone hidden in his jail cell.
Evelyn Alvarez was contacted at her home and arrested for PC 288, Lewd Acts with a child. She was booked into County Jail, where she is being held in lieu of $ 250,000 bail.
