APPLE VALLEY:(VVNG.com)- A high-speed pursuit originated in the Town of Apple Valley and continued eastbound on Highway 18 towards. The pursuit was called at approximately 6:50 P.M., on Friday, June 5, 2015.
For unknown reasons the suspect vehicle rammed a deputies vehicle before speeding away. The vehicle is described as a white newer model Toyota Corolla with paper plates.
A Sheriff’s helicopter was called in to assist ground units with aerial support.
Per scanner traffic, the driver of the vehicle drove in excess of 100 MPH blowing through several stop signs and driving on the wrong side of the roadway. The pursuit continued towards the area of Laguna Seca Drive and Roundup Way in Apple Valley. The driver eventually crashed through a fence of a home on Roundup Way.
At 7:09 P.M., a female and male foot-bailed from the vehicle and began running through the open desert. Thanks to the help of the Sheriff’s Aviation unit, ground deputies arrived on scene and detained both suspects at gun-point. Both suspects were taken into custody at 7:12 P.M.
The driver of the vehicle now faces a multitude of charges including a 245- assault with a deadly weapon.
