High-Speed Pursuit Ends Near Hesperia Elementary School; Suspect Flees on Foot

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A high-speed pursuit through Hesperia ended early Saturday morning when the suspect fled on foot near Carmel Elementary School.
The incident began on November 8, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., when deputies conducting an area check on an unrelated case observed a blue 2002 Chevy Silverado driving recklessly, crossing onto the wrong side of the road.
Deputies attempted a traffic stop, but the driver failed to yield and continued northbound on Lake Arrowhead Road.
During the chase, the suspect ran multiple red lights and stop signs, reaching speeds of up to 100 miles per hour.
“The driver narrowly avoided multiple collisions,” according to a written statement from San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Gloria Orejel.
The pursuit continued behind Carmel Elementary School and onto a nearby dirt road, where it ended.
The suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, successfully evading capture. No injuries or collisions were reported, and the investigation remains ongoing.
