High Desert Targeted in Weeklong Operation Consequences Crime Suppression Effort
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A weeklong crime suppression operation focusing on the High Desert resulted in 15 felony arrests, 33 firearms seized, and significant quantities of narcotics recovered, according to a written statement from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
Between January 19 and January 25, 2026, law enforcement agencies conducted “Operation Consequences,” targeting crime in cities including Adelanto, Victorville, and Hesperia. Deputies and investigators from the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, local patrol stations, and partner agencies served eight search warrants and conducted multiple suspect contacts across San Bernardino County.
According to the statement, “33 firearms were seized, three of which were ghost guns,” and “over three pounds of suspected methamphetamine and approximately one pound of fentanyl was seized.” Authorities also focused on identifying gang members and individuals prohibited from possessing firearms.
The SMASH (San Bernardino Movement Against Street Hoodlums) Street Enforcement Team also participated, carrying out proactive patrols in the High Desert and surrounding areas.

The operation was supported by funding authorized by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors to address “quality-of-life issues affecting the communities in our county.”
Operation Consequences is expected to continue over the coming months, with efforts aimed at “curbing violent crime, disrupting and dismantling targeted criminal street gangs, and locating and arresting criminals who are illegally possessing, manufacturing, and trafficking firearms,” the Sheriff’s Department stated.
Participating agencies included the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino Police Department, San Bernardino County Probation, and Department of Homeland Security Investigations.
