
HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — After a vehicle pursuit late Thursday night, Hesperia police said they arrested a 29-year-old man suspected of stealing a car.
The incident began around 10:30 pm, in the area of Main Street and Third Avenue in Hesperia.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Taylor Reynolds said deputies attempted a traffic stop and a records check indicated the vehicle was stolen out of Victorville
The driver of the vehicle, Richard Hoffman, a 29-year-old male out of Hesperia, failed to yield and led deputies on an approximately 12-mile pursuit that ended when the vehicle collided into a fire hydrant in Victorville.
Hoffman was taken into custody and booked at High Desert Detention Center for PC 496D(A) Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and VC 2800.2(A) Evading a Peace Officer.
Hoffman is being held without bail due to violating his Post Community Release Supervision PC 3455. He is scheduled for arraignment on January 15, 202, according to jail records.
