Hesperia Park and Rec postpones all special events through April 1st

HESPERIA, Calif. — Following the orders and guidance of state and county health officials, the Hesperia Recreation and Park District is postponing all special events and non-essential public gatherings of 250 people, or more, through April 1, 2020.
This will affect the upcoming High Desert Pirate Renaissance Faire scheduled for March 21st and 22nd at Hesperia Lake Park. The event will be postponed. We are working with N.W.A.R.E. Events to re-schedule the event later this year.
We are also working closely with our youth sports partners. All March 14th Opening Day Ceremony activities have been cancelled. Little League programs within the District have postponed all Little League Operations through April 6, 2020. You are encouraged to monitor updates from Hesperia American Little League, Hesperia National Little League, Hesperia Youth Soccer League and American Youth Soccer Organization for schedule changes.
Currently, the District’s After School Activities Program (ASAP) and Spring Kids Kamp will follow the lead of the local school District. Should schools be closed, these HRPD programs will also close.
At this time, no other facilities, programs or classes have been affected. Gatherings of less than 250 people are still being permitted if the event location allows for social distancing of 6 feet or more.
This is a rapidly evolving and fluid situation; this information is subject to change. The closing, postponement and/or cancellation of District facilities, programs, classes and special events may be subjected to change, and/or updated based on new information.
The Hesperia Recreation and Park District’s top priority continues to be the health and safety of all of our participants, visitors and staff.
We understand these decisions may cause hardship for some; we appreciate your understanding. For more information related to facilities, programs, classes and special event postponement and/or cancellations please contact the District Office at (760) 244-5488 or via email at admin@hesperiaparks.com.
