Hesperia mother arrested after 2-year-old severely malnourished

HESPERIA, Calif. ( As a result of a lengthy four-month Investigation, a Hesperia mother was charged today with child cruelty.

On October 31, 2017, 25-year-old Chelsea Price took her two-year-old daughter to a medical appointment where staff found the child to be severely malnourished and emaciated.

Due to the young girl’s condition, she was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) where she received extensive treatment and was hospitalized.

“Following an extensive investigation and collaboration with Forensic Pediatricians from LLUMC, Price was arrested on February 8, 2018,” officials said.

She was booked into the Adelanto Detention Center for PC 273a(a); Willful Cruelty to a Child and bail was set for $100,000.
