Hesperia man arrested after he sprayed and hit elderly man with water nozzle

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A Hesperia man is facing misdemeanor elder abuse charges after he allegedly used a water nozzle to attack a 72-year-old man, officials said.

It happened on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at about 1:30 pm in the 8800 block of Seventh Avenue in Hesperia.

Deputies were called to the location regarding a domestic disturbance and contacted the victim, a 72-year-old man.

According to Sheriff’s spokeswoman Taylor Reynolds, the suspect, Ronald Doyle, 49, a resident of Hesperia, sprayed the victim with a water hose.

“Doyle then struck the victim with the metal spray nozzle, striking the victim’s head and pushed the victim to the ground,” stated Reynolds.

The victim sustained moderate injuries and was treated at the scene by fire personnel.

Doyle was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for PC 368(B)(1). His bail is set at $50,000 and he is scheduled to appear in a Victorville courtroom today where he faces one count of misdemeanor elder abuse.
