HESPERIA:(VVNG.com)- The City of Hesperia and the Hesperia Chamber of Commerce are hosting a free e-waste collection event, June 28 and 29 at 15776 Main Street from 9am – 4pm.
Open to the entire High Desert community, this event is aimed at keeping electronic waste out of the landfill. Electronic items contain many hazardous materials including lead, mercury and cadmium. If not properly disposed of, these substances can seep into the ground, contaminating the water supply and surrounding areas.
Items accepted at the collection event include:
- Monitors and televisions;
- Computers; printers and copies;
- Scanners and cameras;
- Cell phones and radios.
Those with unwanted electronics are encouraged to take advantage of this free event.
