Hesperia High School To Host Every 15 Minutes DUI Awareness Program March 18-19

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A simulated drunk driving crash will be staged at Hesperia High School on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, as part of the Every 15 Minutes program.
The mock crash is scheduled to begin at about 10 a.m. at the HHS stadium and will involve a large emergency response presence in the area. Officials said the public is being notified in advance so residents understand the incident is only a simulation and that no actual emergency is taking place.
According to a written statement, Every 15 Minutes is a two-day program designed to show high school students the impact drinking and driving can have on friends, families and the community.
The first day of the program centers on a simulated traffic crash involving an impaired teenage driver and a fatally injured victim. The event is expected to include emergency responses similar to those seen during a real crash, including police, fire, ambulance, coroner, public works and tow services.
The program will conclude Thursday, March 19, 2026, with a mock funeral and student assembly.
The event is being conducted by the California Highway Patrol with support from the Hesperia Unified School Police Department, San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office, San Bernardino County Fire Department, G & M Towing, and other community partners and affiliates.
Funding for the program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Remaining funds are provided by the Hesperia High School ASB student account.
“The mission of the California Highway Patrol is to provide the highest level of Safety, Service, and Security to the people of California.”
