Hesperia DUI Checkpoint Results

HESPERIA: During the evening hours of Friday, March 21, 2014 Deputies and Volunteers from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Hesperia Station conducted a DUI Checkpoint in the area of Main Street and Balsam Avenue. A total of 1,403 vehicles went through the checkpoint during the 8 hour operation. One arrest was made for driving under the influence of alcohol and or drugs and there were 4 other arrests / citations issued for driving with either a suspended driver’s license, driving without a license or outstanding arrest warrants (One arrest for a no-bail warrant). Thirteen vehicles were towed during the operation.

The purpose of these checkpoints is to apprehend impaired drivers who are operating vehicles while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, cite unlicensed drivers and to reduce the number of victims killed or injured in alcohol-involved collisions.
