Hesperia Crash Claims Life of Mother on Her Way to Pick Up Son From School
HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) – A crash in Hesperia on Wednesday afternoon resulted in the death of a mother who was en route to pick up her son from school.
The incident occurred on December 18, 2024, at approximately 1:51 p.m. and involved two vehicles at the intersection of Cottonwood Avenue and El Centro Road.
The accident involved a black Honda sedan, which sustained significant damage to the driver’s side door, and a gray 2008 Mazda3 that suffered major front-end damage.
Jennifer Najera, the aunt of the deceased, recounted the circumstances surrounding the crash. “My niece was killed in this accident today in the black Honda. All I heard so far is that she got T-boned. She was alive when the ambulance got there but died en route to the hospital. She was on her way to pick up her son from school but never made it.”
As authorities continue to investigate the incident, the area at Cottonwood Avenue and El Centro Road was closed to traffic.
The identity of the victim has not been disclosed, and further details regarding the cause of the crash are still pending.
The investigation is being conducted by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Hesperia Station.
The extent of injuries sustained by the other driver involved remains unknown.
