Hesperia boy shot in head on 15 freeway: CHP needs help finding suspect

CAJON PASS, 15 Freeway (VVNG.com) The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help locating a suspect that shot a 10-year-old boy in the head Thursday night.
In a press conference held Friday afternoon, officials said the shooting occurred just after 9 pm on the northbound 15 freeway between Cleghorn Blvd and the 215 freeway.
The boy’s mother was traveling northbound on Interstate 15 towards Hesperia where they live, when another unknown vehicle that was traveling in the same direction opened fire, striking the young boy in his head.
Emergency personal arrived on scene and transported the boy to a trauma center. He is expected to survive his injuries.
CHP officials shut down the freeway as they investigated.
Detectives located bullet fragments inside the victims vehicle, but they have not been able to identify the suspect or the suspect’s vehicle description.
Authorities said there is no motive for the shooting and they don’t believe road-rage was involved.
