Help Identify Attempted Dog Nabber in Adelanto

ADELANTO, Calif. ( Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who attempted to steal an American Bully Dog.

On February 24, 2017, around 3:28 p.m., in the 18200 block of Spruce Street in the City of Adelanto, the suspect attempted to steal the victim’s American Bully Dog. The suspect jumped the victim’s fence and went into the victim’s front yard and began chasing the dog.

Authorities say the victim was assaulted by the suspect with pepper spray after confronting the suspect.

The suspect fled the property on foot. The suspect’s hat fell off during the incident and was recovered by deputies.

The suspect is described as an unknown African American male, 20-30 years of age, black hair, last seen wearing a dark blue hoodie, light blue pants, and blue and orange shoes, according to a Sheriff’s news release.
