Helendale man, 44, arrested for attempted murder

HELENDALE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 44-year-old man is facing charges of attempted murder and terrorist threats after he was caught trying to force entry into a home, officials said.
On February 24, 2020, at about 10:11 pm., deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the 26300 block of Corona Drive in the community of Helendale regarding an unknown disturbance.
According to sheriff’s spokeswoman Jodi Miller, the disturbance involved an adult male, later identified as Ronald Garrett, and an adult female who are married, however, not living in the same home.
Miller said the male forced entry into the home and was trying to get into a room where the female was located.
“The victim felt threatened and was afraid of the suspect based on his actions and his threats to harm her. When the deputy arrived, he was still trying to get into the room and was arrested by the deputy,” stated Miller.
Ronald Ray Garrett was arrested and remains in custody at the West Valley Detention Center, he was booked for PC273.6(A) Terrorist Threats and PC664/187(A) Attempted Murder.
