On Friday, March 14th, 2014 at approximately 7:41 a.m., detectives and gang deputies of the Apple Valley Police Station along with ATF agents and San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Team served three separate search warrants.

After a three month investigation deputies working with ATF and FBI served a search warrant and seized all of the firearms from Charley’s Urban Tactical Supplies located at 18838 highway 18, in Apple Valley.

Through an extensive investigation deputies were able to discover that Charles Herrick, 56, a resident of Apple Valley was selling guns to convicted felons and other individuals without proper paperwork and identification.

They served another warrant at his residence in the 20000 block of Stoddard Wells Road and seized additional guns.

A second suspect 39-year-old Steven Clemmons, from Apple Valley was arrested after a warrant was served on his residence in the 20000 block of Waalew Road. Deputies found guns and what appeared to be heroin.

A total of 84 guns were taken from all three locations along with high capacity magazines and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

Steven Clemmons is being charged with HS11550e – Addict in possession of a firearm, HS11370.1- Possession of firearm while in possession of narcotics.

Charles Herrick is being charged with PC27500a – Selling firearm to a convicted felon, PC33215 – Possession of a short barreled rifle.

Both suspects were booked at High Desert Detention Center and bail is set at a quarter of a million dollars each. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact Deputy Jon Cahow at the Apple Valley Police Station (760) 240-7400.
