GoFundMe Launched For Darien Burns After Fatal Crash At Bear Valley Road And SR-18

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to honor the life of a Victorville man who died following a traffic collision in Apple Valley.

The fundraiser, titled “Honoring My Husband’s Memory,” was created by Diamond Skye Cruz to support expenses and remember Darien I. Burns, 31.

According to previous reports, Burns was involved in a two-vehicle t-bone crash involving a pickup truck and a sedan on April 20, 2026, at the intersection of Bear Valley Road and State Route 18, an area commonly known as Dead Man’s Point.

She described Burns as someone who found joy in everyday moments, writing, “He was a loving father to our three dogs, and his passion for video games and streaming brought joy to his days. He cherished connecting with his online friends, sharing stories, caring for our dogs, and spending time with me.”

Cruz also shared personal memories of their life together, stating, “He always found happiness in bowling and watching Star Wars. I loved to bake for him, cuddle, travel, and always nagged him to try new foods. He also had a gentle touch for growing plants, nurturing life wherever he could.”

Highlighting his close bond with family, she wrote, “Darien has always been a grandma’s boy, she made it no secret that he was her favorite grandchild, which his family always joked about. The fact that he passed away on her birthday has definitely left a bittersweet feeling in all of our hearts.”

The fundraiser aims to help cover funeral costs, memorial services, and essential household expenses. “Giving him the farewell he deserves is my greatest wish,” Cruz wrote, adding that it is her hope to lay him to rest alongside his grandmother at Desert View Memorial.
