Glen Helen Regional Park will be opening a new and improved campground with 50 sites. There are sites for RV camping with full hookups and for tent camping, in about equal portion. The campground offers plenty of the standard amenities from electricity, bathrooms & showers, to individual fire pits or barbeques. The park has many activities that visitors can do. There is always fishing and hiking, as well as disc golf plus a waterpark that is open during the summer.
The campground is directly across from the park and the San Manuel Amphitheater, which hosts many concerts throughout the year. The proximity to the venue will allow you to attend a concert and relax in a campsite afterward to avoid the drive home that night. You could make a mini- vacation centered on your concert of choice.
Both the park and campsite allow dogs on-leashes, so you don’t have to worry about finding care for your dog(s) when you camp. The park has plenty of grass areas and trails that everyone can enjoy. The park has a great view of the mountains and is far enough from the freeway to provide the peace and quiet you need. It is great place to have a weekend vacation that isn’t too far from home or civilization, but just far enough to enjoy nature. The county takes reservations up to a year in advance and will start taking reservations for the new site starting January 1, 2014, so be sure to mark your calendars.
