Girl, 16, arrested for the murder of Willie Hunter, 79, of Apple Valley

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) A 16-year-old girl was arrested for the murder of a Willie Hunter, 79, of Apple Valley.

Homicide Detectives launched the investigation after a female friend went to Hunter’s duplex to check on his well-being and found him dead on Saturday, July 22, at about 3:46 pm.

When officials entered the residence in the 12700 block of Kiowa Road they found blood throughout the home and believed Hunter had been shot. However, following an extensive investigation into the night, they learned he was stabbed by the teenage girl following an altercation, officials said.

The teenage girl, who detectives say the two knew each other, fled in the victim’s car after leaving him dead inside the duplex.

Early Sunday morning, Investigators made contact with the suspect. Following an interview, the suspect was booked at Juvenile Hall for Murder.

Authorities did not specify on the relationship between the victim and the suspect.
