VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 15-year-old girl on her way to school was struck by a vehicle while in a crosswalk Monday morning.
It happened near the campus of Victor Valley High School on the 16400 block of Mojave Drive.
On August 5, 2019, at about 6:40 am, the female student was in a crosswalk at Mojave and 6th Street, when she was struck by a slow-moving vehicle, officials said.
“The vehicle was making a right turn from Mojave onto 6th and did not see the female,” stated sheriff’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez.
Rodriguez said the victim was awake and alert when deputies arrived. “She was transported to a local hospital for complaint of knee pain.”
The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation.
