Fort Irwin man arrested for possession of child pornography

FORT IRWIN, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Steven Berg, a 38-year-old resident of Fort Irwin was arrested for Possession of Child Pornography at the military base, officials said.

Investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Crimes Against Children Detail (CAC) and Sheriff’s Hi-Tech Division, began an investigation into the downloading, possession and distribution of child pornography.

Through investigation, investigators determined that child pornography was distributed from a home in Fort Irwin.  

On Thursday, January 16, 2020, personnel from CAC, Hi-Tech Division, the United States Army Criminal Investigation Command (CID) and Barstow Sheriff’s Station, served a search warrant at a residence in the 5200 block of Bighorn Lane in Fort Irwin.

Investigators contacted Steven Berg at the residence.

At the end of an interview with Berg, he was arrested for possession of child pornography. Berg was subsequently booked into the High Desert Detention Center.
