Former Victor Valley Jr. High School Gym catches fire

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — San Bernardino County Firefighters responded to a structure fire at the old Victor Valley Jr. High School in Victorville Wednesday night at about 9:15 p.m. 

When crews arrived at the vacant school they located heavy pressurized black smoke coming from the roof of the gym. 

Deputies shut down Forrest Avenue between Hesperia Road and 7th Street while crews battled the blaze, which was upgraded to a second-alarm fire requiring more resources. By 10:06 p.m. the fire was out.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
