
HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) Thomas Cook, a former High Desert dance instructor who sexually assaulted a 13-year-old student, was sentenced to 8 years in state prison and lifetime sex offender registration.
Thomas Cook, from Hesperia, was arrested on February 7, 2015, after he was accused of being involved in an inappropriate relationship with a child.
At the time of his arrest, Cook was a proctor at Topaz Preparatory Academy and a dance instructor at Dance Dynamics in Hesperia and Upland.
San Bernardino County District Attorney Deputy Sheila Monjazeb prosecuted Thomas Cook on February 15, 2017. Cook was facing 11 years and 4 months in state prison and a lifetime sex offender registration.
On Friday, May 19, 2017, the San Bernardino District Attorney’s office announced that cook was sentenced to 8 years in prison and lifetime sex offender registration.
