Former Coco’s building in Victorville catches fire again

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) Firefighters battled a blaze Wednesday afternoon at the former Coco’s building that has been vacant since April 2015.

The building sustained heavy smoke and fire damage, but San Bernardino County Fire Department Spokesman Jeff Allen said crews were able to keep the fire from fully destroying the building.

Firefighters responded to a report of a commercial structure fire in the 15500 block of Palmdale Road and Kentwood Drive a little after 12:30 p.m.

According to Allen, a total of 22 Fire Personnel responded with four paramedic engines, two truck companies, a paramedic squad, and two battalion chiefs and a fire investigator.

The knockdown of the fire took approximately 20 minutes, and the cause remains under investigation.

A female transient was placed in the back of a sheriff’s patrol unit and detained for questioning. At this time it’s unknown if the woman was arrested in connection with the fire.

Information will be updated as it becomes available.
