Five Young Adults Hospitalized After Shooting in Highland

HIGHLAND:(VVNG.com)- Police are searching for an attempted murder suspect who shot and injured five young adults. Medical personnel transported all five victims to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment.

According to a Sheriff’s release, on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 12:03 a.m. Highland deputies responded to a call of shots fired at an apartment complex on 25180 5th Street, Highland.

Deputies arrived and found five subjects suffering from gunshot wounds. Deputies determined that the victims were hanging out in a garage in the apartment complex when an unknown black male walked up and opened fire. At this time there is no further description available on the suspect.

VICTIM #1: Black female, 23, Highland (stable condition)
VICTIM #2: Black female, 21, San Bernardino (stable condition)
VICTIM #3: Black female, 18, Highland (critical condition)
VICTIM #4: Black male, 21, Highland (moderate/critical condition)
VICTIM #5: Black female, 24, Highland (stable condition)

The investigation is in the early stages and the motive remains unknown. Additionally, it is unknown if the shooting is gang related.
