2 people rescued from Scandia ride stuck 165 feet high in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Firefighters with San Bernardino County Fire rescued two riders stuck on top of a ride, 165 feet off the ground.
It happened on April 8, 2018, at about 9:24 pm, when firefighters were dispatched to Scandia Family Fun Zone in the 12600 block of Mariposa Road after receiving reports of people stuck on the Sky Screamer ride.
Sky Screamer is an attraction that carries riders 16 stories and rotates them several times at 55 mph.
According to a tweet from SB County Fire, 2 Medic Engines, 2 Trucks, and 1 Rescue were assigned to the incident.
On-site staff and mechanics along with fire department personnel completed a controlled decent of the ride, successfully bringing the riders down to safety.
By 10:18 pm, a 20 and 14-year-old male had been successfully rescued from the ride. They were evaluated by paramedics at the scene.
