Firefighters Rescue Person Trapped Under a Trailer

[googlemap src=”” align=”alignright” ]YUCCA VALLEY:(VVNG.com)- On Friday August 8th, 2014 at approximately 12:30 A.M. San Bernardino County Fire received a 911 call reporting a trailer had slipped from the jacks with one person trapped under the trailer.
County Fire responded to the 57000 block of Wilhart Drive in Yucca Valley with a full response including 2 Paramedic Engine Companies, 1 Paramedic Ambulance and a Battalion Chief for a total of 7 personnel. County Fire Paramedics arrived on scene several minutes after dispatch and found one person trapped under the weight a large travel trailer.
The approximate 50-year-old male patient was awake and complaining of severe shortness of breath. County Fire crews used specialized heavy lift “Air Bags” to lift the trailer off the victim. The entire rescue took approximately 6 minutes. As the victim was removed from under the trailer, advanced life support was initiated by County Fire Paramedics. The County Fire Paramedic Ambulance transported the critically injured patient to the Yucca Valley Airport to the awaiting Mercy Air Ambulance, which transported to Desert Regional Palm Springs for further specialized care. Cal-Fire provided assistance as the landing zone coordinator on this incident.
