Fire crews battling brush fire in foothills of San Bernardino mountains

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Fire crews are battling a fast-moving vegetation fire in the foothills near San Bernardino/Highland.
The fire dubbed, the #sterlingfire was reported on Friday, August 31, 2018, at about 5:44 pm, in the area of Sterling Avenue and Foothill Drive in San Bernardino.
The fire was initially reported as being 5 acres in size and by 6:50 pm, it grew to approximately 60 acres and moving in a northeast direction, according to a tweet.
Multiple air tankers are assisting ground crews in battling the fire that is burning within close proximity to homes along Osborne and Bonita Vista.
The U.S. Forest Service and San Bernardino County Fire are un unified command as they work to contain the fire.
At this time the cause of the fire is under investigation.
