Female pedestrian struck and killed overnight in Hesperia

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Hesperia police say a woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle overnight.

It happened at about 1:19 am, on November 7, 2018, near the intersection of Eucalyptus Street and Hesperia Road.

According to a sheriff’s news release, “the reporting party said there was a body in the roadway which appeared to have been hit by a vehicle.” When deputies and firefighters arrived on scene they located an unidentified white female adult laying in the center left turn lane of Hesperia Road, just north of K&G Liquor.

The pedestrian was unresponsive with no signs of life and pronounced deceased at the scene.

Officials said, the female, whose name was not released pending notification of family, was walking in the southbound lane of Hesperia Road when she was struck by a gray 2006 BMW 750i also traveling southbound.

According to the release, “the driver of the BMW struck the pedestrian which caused the pedestrian to be vaulted over the vehicle.”

After the crash, the driver of the BMW remained at the scene and was cooperative with MAIT Investigators.

The Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is continuing the investigation into the collision and it is unknown at this time if alcohol or speed was a factor.
