PHELAN, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A female passenger on a motorcycle was airlifted to a trauma center following a crash on Phelan Road late Wednesday night on Christmas Day.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:25 p.m. on December 25, 2025, near the intersection of Phelan Road and Anderson Ranch Road, as reported by the California Highway Patrol.
The crash involved an older model Honda Civic and a black motorcycle carrying a male rider and his female passenger.
Preliminary reports suggested that both vehicles were heading east on Phelan Road when the motorcycle attempted to pass another vehicle on its left.
The vehicle, which had its turn signal activated, began to make a left turn onto Anderson Ranch Road. As the sedan clipped the motorcycle, the rider lost control, resulting in both the male driver and his female passenger being ejected from the bike.
The female passenger sustained severe traumatic head injuries and was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center by Mercy Air 22, which landed in the parking lot of a nearby Stater Bros grocery store.
Fortunately, the male motorcycle rider did not sustain serious injuries and did not require medical transport. The driver of the sedan was also unharmed.
The California Highway Patrol’s Victorville station is currently investigating the crash. Authorities have indicated that drugs and alcohol were not suspected to be factors in the incident.
