Female Jogger Attacked in Silver Lakes



SILVER LAKES – ( A female was assaulted while she was out jogging in a remote area of Shadow Mountain Road near Rivers Edge in Silver Lakes. Dispatch received a call on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 11:45 a.m., from an unidentified female adult who called 911 reporting she had just been assaulted.

Victor Valley Deputies and Detectives and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Aviation Division responded and arrived within 12 minutes.

[googlemap src=”” align=”alignright” ]The victim told deputies she was jogging when she was grabbed from behind and pushed down to the ground on her hands and knees. She did not see the suspect but felt something sharp against her cheek. Within seconds, the suspect ran away in an unknown direction. The only description the victim was able to give police was a male who sounded as if he was a white male adult and possibly wearing a black sweatshirt with a hood.

As a result of the attack the victim received a superficial cut to her arm she believes resulted from the object the suspect held. The injury was minor and did not require treatment. The victim ran to her neighbor’s house and called 911.

The Investigation is ongoing. Detectives have canvassed the surrounding neighborhood; however no one saw or heard anything.
