Female Driver Deceased in 15 Freeway Accident

(VVNG.com)- On Monday, June 23 at approximately 3:00a.m. a 1999 Toyota 4-Runner was heading south on the 15 freeway just north of Highway 138, when for unknown reasons the vehicle went off the roadway subsequently causing the vehicle to overturn. The 25-year-old San Bernardino woman, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, was ejected from the vehicle. She was spotted laying on the freeway by a commuter who stopped and ran to her side to assist her. Brenda Kowalski, a Victorville resident, stated, “My husband had to hold the lady down for approximately 15 minutes to keep her from further injuring herself because her arm was split open and she was bleeding profusely.”

Her husband then continued on to work after the paramedics arrived to render medical aid to the ailing woman. When he left he said the police were looking for the child, who the woman reported was with her. The outcome of the search has not been released and confirmation of reports of a child being present at the time of impact have not been confirmed.

The woman,identified by a family member as, Alicia Gotto, was transported to San Bernardino Community Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Alicia was said to have had two children, both boys, her sister has custody of one of the children and the other child is currently  living in a foster home.
