Felon on PRCS in Victorville re-arrested after gun found stashed inside couch

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Rodney Griffith, a 27-year-old felon on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) was arrested after officials found a handgun stashed inside a couch.

It happened on August 8, 2019, in the 14700 block of Seneca Road in Victorville.

At about 3:14 pm deputies from the Victorville Police Department’s Gang Enforcement Team were requested to assist San Bernardino County Probation officers with a search warrant at Griffith’s residence.

“During the search, deputies located a firearm and several rounds of ammunition concealed inside of a couch,” stated a sheriff’s news release.

Officials said Griffith lives with his girlfriend and her three minor children in the home. “The firearm was loaded and unsecured in the family’s living area,” stated the release.

Griffith is on PRCS and is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition as a condition of his parole. He was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, and child cruelty.
