FedEx Big Rig Crash And Diesel Spill Cause Lane Closures On Northbound I-15 In Hesperia

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Traffic remains impacted Monday morning in Hesperia following a crash involving a FedEx semi-truck and diesel spill on northbound Interstate 15 between Main Street and Bear Valley Road.
The crash was reported at about 3:15 a.m., on May 11, 2026, on northbound I-15 south of Bear Valley Road, according to California Highway Patrol incident logs.
CHP logs indicated the FedEx big rig overturned into the center divider following the collision, temporarily stopping all northbound lanes before crews later uprighted the truck.
The CHP log noted approximately 15 feet of guardrail damage and requested heavy-duty recovery equipment for the truck, which was reportedly carrying an estimated 80,000 pounds.

One person was transported to Desert Valley Hospital by county firefighters, according to the incident log.
Authorities also requested a hazardous materials response after diesel fuel spilled onto the roadway. The CHP log stated the spill involved “diesel only,” with an estimated 100 gallons contained on the asphalt roadway.

As of the latest update Monday morning, Caltrans implemented a hard closure of the No. 1 and No. 2 northbound lanes from Main Street to just south of Bear Valley Road for an estimated two to three hours while crews conduct recovery and cleanup operations.
Traffic remained heavily backed up through the Hesperia area as motorists were diverted around the lane closures.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Victorville California Highway Patrol Station.
