
Interstate 15 Freeway (VVNG.com) A crash on the 15 Freeway claimed the life of a 65-year-old female and injured three others Wednesday afternoon, officials confirmed.
CHP logs reported the crash at 12:51 p.m. on the northbound 15 freeway one mile south of Field Road involving a white Lexus SUV and a black Nissan Armada.
“A Lexus SUV was traveling southbound on Interstate 15 near Harvard Road when it experienced a tire tread separation. The Lexus lost control and began to overturn through the center divider,” stated CHP Officer Adam Carmichall.
The 65-year-old female driver of the Armada succumbed to her injuries as a result of the collision. Another occupant from the Armada required extrication. That person was transported to a trauma center in critical condition.
Two passengers from a second SUV declined medical treatment.
As of 5:26 p.m. the scene has been cleared and traffic remains backed up for 10 miles, CHP logs report.
Drugs and/or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this collision at this time, officials said.
