HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Marty Carroll Jr., was identified by family as the motorcyclist who died after crashing head-on into an SUV Wednesday morning.
“My brother was such an amazing soul who touched everyone that he came in contact with. He leaves behind a wife, 6 children, a niece, a sister, parents and so many friends. We never know when our time is & we never really are prepared for it either,” Elizabeth Carroll wrote on the GoFundMe.
According to a previous Victor Valley News article, on August 1, 2018, at about 11:35 AM, Deputies from the Hesperia Station, along with rescue personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department, responded to a reported vehicle vs. motorcycle traffic collision near the intersection of Peach Avenue and Donert Street.
Carroll suffered major injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to Desert Valley Hospital, where despite efforts by doctors, he was pronounced deceased.
Marty’s employer So Cal Stoneworx said Marty was on his way home from a lunch break when the crash occurred.
“Many of you may recognize Marty as a part of the Stoneworx crew, as he’s been with us for over 5 years. However, he was much more than an employee, he was a brother to me. He was in a motorcycle accident today on his lunch break and did not make it. It’s still so surreal to me right now, I shared so many good times with this dude over the years and just can’t wrap my head around why this would happen to him,” the company stated in a Facebook post.
“I am desperately asking all of my friends & family to please keep all of us in your prayers during this tough time & if you could donate anything to help out with my brother’s services & the expenses that his wife & kids will need help with,” his sister Elizabeth Carroll stated.
