Family of 5 escapes after SUV crashes into aqueduct

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A family of five and their small dog are lucky to be alive after their SUV plunged into the aqueduct.
It happened at about 2:54 pm, on Memorial Day Monday when for reasons still unknown a Honda Pilot SUV crashed into the California Aqueduct in the area of Smoke Tree and US Highway 395 in Hesperia.
All five occupants including the family pet escaped from the SUV made it out safely to dry land. The submerged SUV continued to float down stream before getting caught in a safety buoy. At this time its unknown if the family got out of the SUV before or after the vehicle entered the water.
No other injuries have been reported and the story is developing, information will be updated as it becomes available.
