Family Mourns Loss of Aspiring Nurse, Dyanah Delgadillo, 22, Killed in El Mirage Crash

ADELANTO, CALIF. ( – Family and friends are mourning and rallying support following the death of 22-year-old Dyanah Carmen Delgadillo Alferez, who was killed in a crash on the morning of February 14, 2024.

Dyanah, an Adelanto resident and aspiring nurse, was en route to her nursing school when her Toyota Corolla was involved in a crash with a semi-truck at the El Mirage and Richardson Roads intersection.

The incident occurred at around 6:58 a.m. in an unincorporated area of Adelanto, leading to an immediate response from emergency services.

Despite the rapid actions of the San Bernardino County Fire, Dyanah tragically passed away at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck was reported to have not sustained any injuries.

Mara Rodriguez, the spokesperson for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, confirmed that Dyanah was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Preliminary inquiries suggest the collision took place as the sedan rear-ended the semi-truck while the truck was executing a right turn.

Officials have not confirmed whether the truck, which was carrying a heavy transformer, was decelerating for a nearby power plant at the time of the crash.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department – Victor Valley Station is leading the investigation into the accident, which prompted the closure of El Mirage Road between Beaver and Richardson Roads for several hours the day of the collision.

In the wake of the tragedy, Dyanah’s family has created a GoFundMe page to raise funds for her memorial services, reflecting on her life with touching personal anecdotes. Remembered as a diligent student and joyful spirit, Dyanah completed her high school education a year early and had a passion for music, gaming, and family adventures.

Her sister, Angelica Alferez, who is organizing the fundraiser, recalls their childhood experiences and Dyanah’s determination to become a nurse—a dream spurred on by the passing of their grandmother in 2020.

After completing the medical assistant with SJVC Victor Valley she decided she wanted to further her nursing education and enrolled in Concorde College. Dyanah was in her fifth term at Concorde College, with graduation in sight for April 2024 when the accident occurred.

“She loved her friends, family, her loving boyfriend, and her two bunnies Lola and Mushu. We’ll miss her beautiful smile and infectious laugh the most. Hug your loved ones and remember to cherish the time you have with your loved ones,” Angelica added.

The Alferez family hopes that the community’s outpouring of support can honor Dyanah’s memory and assist with funeral expenses during this challenging time.
