Family Launches GoFundMe To Honor 23-Year-Old Abril “Abby” Farfan After Fatal Apple Valley Motorcycle Crash
VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Family members have launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover funeral expenses and celebrate the life of 23-year-old Abril “Abby” Farfan, who was killed in a Fourth of July motorcycle crash in Apple Valley.
Farfan was riding as a passenger on a green Yamaha R7 when it collided with a Nissan Titan at about 9:56 p.m. on July 4 along Bear Valley Road, west of Iroquois Road, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
Investigators said the pickup truck turned onto Bear Valley Road in front of the motorcycle, which then struck the rear of the truck. Both Farfan and the motorcycle’s rider, 30-year-old Gary Copas of Victorville, were ejected from the motorcycle and suffered major injuries. Farfan later died at the hospital, while Copas remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The online fundraiser, titled “Honoring Abril ‘Abby’ Farfan’s Memory,” was created by her brother, Andrew Farfan, to help the family with funeral expenses and other unexpected costs.

According to the fundraiser, Farfan had recently celebrated her 23rd birthday in May and was attending college while working as a manager at Pizza Hut.
“Abril ‘Abby’ Farfan was a light in a dark room, the person who brought your shine when you needed it most,” Andrew Farfan wrote.
He said she was loved by her coworkers and everyone who knew her. She enjoyed attending concerts, making people laugh with her unique sense of humor, and spending time with family and friends.

“But most of all, it was the time she dedicated to her friends and family that made her truly special. She was never too busy for you, and she was a person like no other,” he wrote.
Andrew Farfan also shared the family’s hope of laying his sister to rest in the hometown where she grew up.
“This GoFundMe is to support her service and other costs our family must endure during our time of need. We’d like to have a burial in the hometown she grew up in, where she felt truly at home and found peace. I intend on ensuring she continues to rest there, as she continues to live through everyone she touched, loved, and above all, the family she left behind and who misses her dearly,” he wrote.

He ended the tribute with a heartfelt farewell to his sister.
“May this young woman find peace, and this isn’t a goodbye. We will be seeing you again someday, Nena.”
