Explosives Found in Car of Man Slumped Over The Wheel

BARSTOW, Calif. (PRESS RELEASE) A Barstow deputy approached a man slumped over inside a vehicle and discovered explosives, numerous drugs, and realistic airsoft guns.

On May 19, 2017, at approximately 2:40 a.m. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Barstow Deputy Johnnie Mamon stopped at the Food for Less Fuel Pumps at 580 E Virginia Way, to get gas.

He noticed a suspicious vehicle at the pumps with a male slumped over the wheel. Mamon approached the vehicle to check the man’s welfare and observed a glass “meth pipe” in the sleeping man’s hand. Mamon woke the man up and detained him.

He was identified as Geoffrey Williams, 42 years old, from Riverside.

During a search of Williams’ vehicle, Mamon located one-half pound of high-grade marijuana, 9 grams of methamphetamine, several scales and packaging, a quantity of federally regulated veterinary medicine, several realistic airsoft handguns, explosives and a quantity of US currency.

Williams was arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sale, transportation of methamphetamine for sale, possession of an explosive device, transportation and possession of marijuana for sale.

Williams was booked at the Barstow Jail with a bail of $50,000.00
