HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) – A man was struck and knocked over by a vehicle on Thursday afternoon outside the Walmart store in Hesperia.
The incident unfolded at approximately 1:40 p.m. on January 11, 2024, in the 13400 block of Main Street.
According to the driver’s husband who spoke to VVNG, the driver, his wife, reportedly collided with an elderly pedestrian while navigating the store’s parking lot.
The driver of the gray Toyota Corolla had been traveling south towards the Walmart when she attempted to make a right turn in front of the store traveling west, resulting in the collision with the man.
Footage from Walmart’s surveillance system depicted the force of the impact knocking the man to the ground, with the shopping cart subsequently falling on top of him.
Response teams from the San Bernardino County Fire and Hesperia Police Department promptly arrived at the scene to provide assistance at the scene.
Subsequently, the injured man was transported to Desert Valley Medical Center for treatment.
He was reported to be alert and responsive before being transferred, with emergency personnel taking precautionary measures by securing him in a neck brace.
The driver remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the officials.
