EL MIRAGE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Two people were killed Saturday evening after a vehicle overturned multiple times and caught fire at the El Mirage Dry Lake Bed.
The crash was reported at about 7:27 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the El Mirage Dry Lake near Bella Vista, west of Mountain View Road.
According to radio traffic, San Bernardino County Fire personnel arrived at 7:48 p.m. to find the vehicle fully engulfed in flames and worked quickly to extinguish the fire.
Based on preliminary information, both occupants were ejected during the crash and were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Images from the scene show the vehicle involved was a fully enclosed passenger car, not an off-road vehicle, despite initial California Highway Patrol incident logs identifying it as a Can-Am.
The vehicle had a low-profile body, standard door structure, and chrome rims consistent with a street vehicle. No features associated with off-road vehicles, such as a roll cage or open cabin design, were visible.
No additional information about the victims has been released.
The investigation into the crash is being handled by the California Highway Patrol Victorville Station.
This is a developing story and additional details will be updated as they become available.
