Easter Egg Hunt and Bunny Run this Saturday in Apple Valley

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. — Hop on over to James Woody Park this Saturday for the Sharon Frazier Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Town of Apple Valley 5K/10K Bunny Run.

 The Apple Valley Optimist Club #15017 has helped fill and distribute thousands of eggs annually for more than 50 years for the free Easter egg hunt that takes place on field 1 at 9:30 a.m. sharp. The hunt is open to children ages 10 and younger.

There is a separate area for children with special needs.

Check-in for the 5K/10K Bunny Run begins at 7 a.m. for the race that takes off from field 8 at 8 a.m. Registration fees for runners are $20 by April 18 and $25 for on-site registrations on the day of the race. Separate awards will be given for men, women and children in different age groups. Non-competitive walking participants are free.

The Bunny Run is the first in a series of running events hosted by the Town of Apple Valley Recreation Department each year. The Firecracker Run will be held on July 4 and the Turkey Run is scheduled for Nov. 23.
